On June 5, 2021, the Gaia Institute was present at Praça Barão do Rio Branco, Cáceres-MT, participating in a symbolic act for life in partnership with the EDUCARE/UNEMAT Laboratory, ADUNEMAT, SINASEFE, CRDH Profa. Lúcia Gonçalves, CDH D. Máximo Biennés and MST.

In the square, 70 seedlings of native species of the Pantanal were donated, namely: aroeira, canela-de-ema, laurel black, ximbuva and white ipê, all produced at Viveiro Educador/UNEMAT.

Along with the seedlings, instructions were attached on how to care for the plants during dry weather so as not to lose them.
100 PFF2 masks were also donated, accompanied by an informative pamphlet on which mask to use to protect ourselves from Covid-19.

The donated seedlings and masks were a symbolic gesture remembering "the stories interrupted" by Covid-19 during the current health crisis in which Brazil finds itself.

In addition to the 70 seedlings, the Gaia Institute team distributed:
- 40 for the Cáceres Educational Institute IEC;
- 60 for SICMATUR;
- 45 for other partners, individuals.
In total, 215 seedlings were donated!

In difficult times, it was not a day of celebration, but rather of resistance and life for the people and the Pantanal!
